Manchester United Welcome Angel Di Maria As Britain's Most Expensive Player

Angel Di Maria who joined Real Madrid from Benfica for £36m in 2010 has been transferred to Manchester United for a staggering £60m.
It is believed that Real Madrid asked for £75m for the forward but £60m might have sealed the deal. The transfer for the winger was evident as he was left out of the playing XI against Atletico Madrid, a decision which has been slammed by critics and fans alike. With this transfer United beat Chelsea's £50m record signing of Fernando Torres. This summer United is seen to be on a signing spree with £72m spent on left-back Luke Shaw from Southampton, midfielder Ander Herrera and defender Marcos Rojo. Di Maria is expected to wear the prestigious No. 7 at Old Trafford, previously worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, George Best and David Beckham.
