Indian PM Narendra Modi to meet US President Barak Obama: US Official

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was for years barred from visiting the United States, will meet President Barack Obama at the White House on September 29 and 30, US officials said on Monday.

"President Obama looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India to the White House on September 29-30," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

The two leaders are expected to discuss issues "to expand and deepen the US-India strategic partnership".

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two days of meetings with President Barack Obama in his first visit to the US since being banned in 2005, US officials have confirmed.
