Looking out for a smart phone for yourself and confused
whether which one to go for? Well, we often end up talking about Apple or
Samsung. But, we do have another player in the market which will surely make
you turn your heads for it. We have some enormous options to look over when we
wish to buy a smartphone for ourselves. Especially in India, companies like
Micromax, Lava, etc. and some other have entered the
market with some really low budget costing. Still consumers do not prefer them
as they are mostly Indian based. Though the technology is same including the
OS, Indians have a different mentality over smartphones today. Let’s talk about
the all new introduced Xiomi Mi3.
This China based company phone has entered
India on flipkart with a huge opening. Though it was already launched in China
in September 2013 and sold more than 2 million pieces in just 3 minutes, it has
now crossed borders of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.Xiomi Mi3 - TekSea |
Well initially it wasn’t surprising since its MIUI OS was
easily available for other android supported devices, which could be easily
installed in our phones. The OS has been incredibly reviewed and it is also
being reported it was much awaited in India. Xiomi is actually pronounced as
Shao-Mi, funny isn’t it? This Chinese based smart device is actually known as
the “Apple of the East” and its known to have a fan base all over the world.
Due to its incredible configuration and structure, in India alone, there
1,00,000 customers who had pre-registered to buy the Mi3. Xiomi is selling this
piece almost at par price. Its focus is to make money over the life cycle of
the product as component costs come down as well as selling accessories that
have higher margins. The consumers are really impressed with the hardware of
the device which any other smartphone is ready to offer but not at the same
price like Mi3.
The Mi3 is priced at Rs.13,999 – pretty economical for any
person who once thought of going for a Samsung or an Apple. It features
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with a quad core processor with 2.3 Ghz, 2 GB
Ram and 5 inch Gorilla glass protected screen. A fine quality 13 mega pixel
rear camera & internal storage of 16 GB. It is just next to a Sony Xperia
z1 which is nearly priced at Rs.35,000. The device runs on MIUI OS; supposed to
be an Android based platform with a very user friendly interface. Its
integration is incredible. Taking a note or recording a call, it is on the snap
of your fingers to have them. Looks are similar to that of a recent launch of
Blackberry. It has a unibody design. It doesn’t sport a user replaceable
battery and does not have a rear panel that can be pulled to open. The front
has a glossy and raised display. Sides are round and it gives a metallic
finish, but actually made of plastic.
